Glovework support
Glovework is a boxing round timer and punch counter for Apple Watch, with a companion app on iPhone.
Getting started
- Install Glovework on your iPhone. The watch app installs on your paired Apple Watch.
- Open it once on the iPhone and pick your stance and the wrist your watch is on.
- On the watch, set your rounds and tap Start. Allow Motion and Health access when it asks.
- Save the session on the watch summary. It appears in Sessions on the iPhone.
Common questions
- Do I need an Apple Watch? Yes. The watch counts and times the punches. Without one, the iPhone app shows the method pages and settings but no sessions.
- Which hand is counted? Only the hand wearing the watch. Glovework never doubles the count or guesses the other hand.
- What do Measured and Estimated mean? Estimated numbers come from the watch's motion sensors and carry an expected error. How we measure, in the iPhone app, shows it. Measured is used for heart rate from Apple Watch and for numbers that have passed our video test.
- Does it measure punch force? No. It reports wrist speed, not force.
- Sessions are not showing on my iPhone. Keep the iPhone nearby with Bluetooth on and open Glovework. Saved sessions arrive when the watch reconnects.
- No heart rate in a session. Allow Health access for Glovework in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices. Sessions under one minute are not saved to Health.
- Restore Glovework Pro. Open Settings in the iPhone app and tap Restore Purchases.
- Safety. Never hit a bag, mitts or anything else with the watch exposed. Glovework is made for shadowboxing, and for mitt and bag work with gloves and wraps on.
